Elizabeth Ann Colwell, 80, of Rushford, Minn. died on Monday, February 11, 2013, at Winona Health in Winona, Minn.
Elizabeth was born on June 16, 1932, in Saratoga, Iowa to Clifford and Phyllis (Louvar) Miles. She was raised in Saratoga. After high school she graduated from technical school and worked at Collins Radio in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She married Russell Colwell. After her husband’s death, she moved to Rushford, Minn. in 1973, where she raised her six children. In her spare time she enjoyed sewing, quilting, cooking, cross-stitch and knitting. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and the American Legion Auxiliary in Rushford.
Elizabeth is survived by her six children: Debbie (Gary) Danielson of Lanesboro, Minn.; Julie (Randy) Elrod of Las Vegas, Nev.; Tom (Debbie) Butterfield of Rushford, Minn.; Dan (Bev) Butterfield of Waumandee, Wis.; Dean (Beverly) Colwell of Aberdeen, Wash.; and Barbara Colwell of Plymouth, Minn.; eleven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; four sisters: Ethel (John) Yonts, Edith Norman, Amy Miles, and Marguerite Kelsey; and by many nieces and nephews.
There was a funeral service for Elizabeth on Saturday, February 16, at Hoff Funeral and Cremation Service in Rushford. Burial will be at the Saratoga Cemetery in Saratoga, Iowa.
