Two more students have been expelled from Rochester Public Schools after another special session was called for Monday January 14.
One of the students was involved with the two students already expelled for making terroristic threats against Friedell Middle School, Gibbs Elementary School, John Adams Middle School, and Kellogg Middle School in December.
The other student expelled had been suspended in January for bringing weapons onto school grounds and also for a violation of policy regarding parking motor vehicles on school property. The expulsion for one year was for bringing two billy clubs to school.
Neither the names of the students nor the circumstances of the events leading to the suspensions are disclosed in the school board public documents.
This brings the total number of students expelled from Rochester Public Schools since the start of the new year to seven—a total accrued in two weeks that surpasses the highest number of annual expulsions the district has seen in several years.
