Diane Marie (Kiehne) Torgerson, 63, of Harmony, MN, died unexpectedly on November 5, 2012. She suffered an apparent heart-attack Monday morning at her beloved church in Greenleafton, MN. Having Pastor Roger by her side at the time of her death, in the church she loved so much, is a great comfort to her family. Funeral services will be held Friday, November 9, 2012 at 5:00 pm at the Greenleafton Reformed Church in Greenleafton, MN with Pastor Roger Lokker officiating. Interment will be at a later date in the Greenfield Cemetery in Harmony, MN. Friends may call from 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm Friday at the Greenleafton Reformed Church.
Diane Marie Kiehne was born April 4, 1949 in Harmony, MN to Edward & Evelyn (Christianson) Kiehne. She graduated from Harmony High School in 1967. She lived in the Harmony/Canton area all of her life. On December 14, 1968, she married Larry Torgerson. Together they had 3 children. They were later divorced.
Getting together with family & friends was a huge part of her life. She loved cooking and baking many good foods to share with all the special people in her life. She was such a caring, thoughtful person who did so much for so many people.
Diane had many trials & tribulations to deal with during her earthly life, but her love of God and family gave her great peace in knowing someday she would go home to see all those who have gone before her and walk with the lord.
Diane built her career on helping and caring for others. She was employed by Sunshine Place (Maple Leaf Services) for 20 plus years. Owned and operated Ed & Aggie's Restaurant, was a CNA/TMA at Harmony Healthcare and Heritage Grove for 5 years and most recently the Custodian at the Greenleafton Church. She cared deeply for the people she took care of. To her it wasn't just a job, it was her way of life.
Survivors include her 2 children both of Harmony; Allen(Liz) Torgerson, and Angie(Howard) Haugerud, 8 grandchildren; Braden Bentley of Stewartville, Nile & Annika Torgerson; Nathaniel, Ashley, Zachery& Joshua Haugerud all of Harmony and her very special unborn grandson, due in February, she was so excited to meet. She is also survived by a special family she also considered her own; Jody (Dennis) Solberg of Canton, Jenessa, Dustin, Taylor, Logan, Andrew, Amber, Micah & Bronson. Steve (Donia) Engen of Elbow Lake, MN; Alex, Emily, Alyssa, Annabella & Spencer. Also, her 3 sisters all of Harmony; Carol(Walt) Ward, Nelda Bjertness, & Marilyn Norton; 1 Aunt, Irene Rice of Canton, Dorothy and the entire Torgerson family, many nieces, nephews, cousins and all of those special kids of hers who called her “Ma Torg”.
Diane was preceded in death by her son, LuVerne Edward Torgerson, her parents Edward & Evelyn Kiehne, her brother LuVerne Francis Kiehne and a very special friend Harlan Bock.
