With only a week to go until the 2012 Presidential Election, Söntés Restaurant is in full swing with preparations. “Four years ago, it was actually an impromptu gathering, but it was a lot of fun,” says owner Tessa Leung. “We had people from all over Rochester show up and watch as the results came in. There were democrats, republicans, and independents; even though people had different political viewpoints, we were all there as a community.” This year, Söntés is placing televisions in the bar and lounge to show live coverage of the election.
“We don’t care about folks’ political leanings or who they voted for,” says Leung, “We just hope they’ll join us and celebrate. After all, this only happens once every four years—why not unite with your community?”
In addition to the viewing screens, Söntés is offering 25 percent discount to guests who come in that evening wearing an “I Voted” sticker.
Entry to the event is free, and Happy Hour drink and food specials will run until 5pm.
For questions or further information, contact Tessa Leung at 507-292-1628 or email Amanda Vail at amanda@sontes.com.
