Rochester National Merit Scholarship semi-finalists

For Rochester Public Schools, the National Merit Scholarship semi-finalists were announced at the regular school board meeting October 16, 2012. From Century High School, the semi-finalists were Cheenar Banerjee, Xiuqi Cao, Jinhong Dong, Joshua Halverson, Jennifer Kim, Kendall Leet-Otley, Sean Lin, Rebecca Lorsung, Matthew Marks, Gregory Nathan, and Ying Xiong; from John Marshall High School: Alexander Cheng and Benjamin Stevens; and from Mayo High School: Kharmen Bharucha, Haonan Du, Andrew Hayes, and Brendan Wilder. Students were honored at the meeting by their principals and were invited to stand for applause with their parents.
