The Byron City Council reported results from recent correspondence with the producers of Today in America with Terry Bradshaw. The cable television series had expressed interest in filming a feature on life in the town. City Administrator Mary Blair-Hoeft announced that, "the producers of the show indicated that we would have to do our own advertising and that's not the route we plan taking". Other nearby towns were also reported to have been contacted with the same offer.

A feasibility committee for a possible new pool and sports complex to be constructed in Byron was requested by Blair-Hoeft. "It has been recommended to the council that we put together a committee and find the answers to the many questions that involve the building and possible funding of this project". Further discussion on the topic is slated for future city council meetings as more facts become available.

The council approved $250.00 for the Byron Youth Baseball Association for use towards the building of an equipment shed. The motion made by Jason Snow had been requested by the Byron Park Board on behalf of the baseball association. Council member Bob Meyer added, "they've made some nice improvements to the ball park and with this donation we would like to show our appreciation for that."

Rocky Mountain Insulation - Rochester office Co-Manager Eathan Anderson spoke on behalf of his employer during the meetings Public Comments portion. The company had recently been soliciting business in the Byron area by knocking on doors. After receiving some complaints from local residents, authorities haulted the sales operation after it was found that only one of the solicitors had a proper local sales permit.

"We do have one person that is licensed for door to door sales here in Byron. I know we had some confusion in the past about the permits. I assure you that we have corrected the issue and that our company has a good reputation that we are very proud of. Our company sets up it's own appointments for: free inspections and we also do the entire install," Anderson said.

After a description of the companies sales procedure by Anderson the council conducted a detailed question and answer discussion. It was decided that Rocky Mountain Insulation can conduct door to door sales in Byron as long as they stay within local guidelines. "We are aware that there has been some confusion about who we are, all of our sales people are in a uniform shirt with our company logo on it. We do explain to people that they may qualify for an energy rebate because of our insulation work. We have no affiliation with any energy company and any contract from our us will have our name Rocky Mountain Insulation on the paperwork", added Anderson.
