In addition to being Sunday School superintendent, he served on the Council for many years. He was instrumental in the building of the new church. He also wrote and published two books about his life. He enjoyed spending time with his family and was especially proud when his grandson, Leslie, joined him in raising cattle. He is survived by two daughters: Barbara of Toms River, New Jersey and Ginger Maliszewski (Bill) of Independence, Wisconsin; and his four grandchildren.
