Posted in Rochester Police Reports

ROCHESTER, MN, May 6, 2013 — For the second time in a week, American Red Cross volunteers responded to a mobile home fire in Rochester. 3 adults were displaced by the blaze, which occurred Monday morning. The Red Cross was there to provide support to the victims, both emotionally and for their immediate emergency needs.

Every nine minutes, the Red Cross responds to a fire or other disaster somewhere in the United States. In cases like this, the Red Cross works to meet the emergency physical needs of a family for food, shelter and clothing as well as providing emotional support

About the American Red Cross:

The American Red Cross shelters, feeds and provides emotional support to victims of disasters; supplies nearly half of the nation's blood; teaches lifesaving skills; provides international humanitarian aid; and supports military members and their families. The Red Cross is a charitable organization — not a government agency — and depends on volunteers and the generosity of the American public to perform its mission.
